AI concept illustrationBuying a property, taking a stake in a company and holding a certificate are legally and economically different choices.
Buying a property directly confers the rights set out in the relevant deed. Taking a stake in a company confers the rights attached to that interest. Subscribing to a financial instrument instead confers the rights provided by that instrument’s documents.
An economic link to a property project does not automatically confer ownership of a villa, a mortgage, a capital guarantee or the right to use the property.
In general terms, a Tracker certificate is an instrument whose value or repayment is linked to the performance of an asset, a portfolio or another reference defined in the issuance documents. Structure, costs, duration and rights can vary considerably between instruments.
Alongside the risks of the underlying asset, there may be risks relating to the issuer, structure, valuation and liquidity. Repayment must not be regarded as guaranteed: all of the invested capital may be lost.
